As expected, Xiaomi today launched Mi Mix 2 the successor device to the Xiaomi Mi MIX in China. The smartphone comes with a four-sided curved ceramic body and a frame made out of 7000 series aluminium. It is perfectly crafted in a metal chassis and looks more stunning than the original Mi Mix. It features a massive 5.99-inch near bezel-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, an aluminium body, 6GB RAM, and facial recognition technology.
As above mentioned, the dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features a 5.99-inch FHD (1080×2160 pixels) 18:9 display with a pixel density of 403ppi and a DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC along with Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS with MIUI 9 and has a non-removable 3400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.25-micron pixels, 4-axis optical image stabilisation, 5-piece lens, an f/2.0 aperture, as well as a facial recognition feature. On the right of the lens is a dual LED flash and below it is a fingerprint scanner. Besides, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The Mix Mix 2 comes with a ‘hidden sound-guided speaker’ that comes with ‘cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology’ that resonates sound through the aluminium frame and delivers it through the display itself.
On the connectivity front, The Mi Mix 2 comes with support for global LTE bands – 43 bands in total. It supports LTE 4, dual-band MIMo Wi-Fi, 4G + and more. The smartphone also supports the up and coming Bluetooth 5.0 standard and comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
The Mi Mix 2 has been launched in three variants that feature 64GB, 128GB and 128GB storage spaces, and are priced at RMB 3,299, RMB 3,599 and RMB 3,999 respectively.
The smartphone is also available in a ceramic body, 128GB storage, and a whopping 8GB of RAM. This variant comes in black and white colors and will be available in November at 4,699 RMB.
