Xiaomi has today unveiled Xiaomi Mi A1, its first dual-camera smartphone in India. The smartphone comes in a metal unibody design and a dual-camera setup at the back. Besides, the talking point of this smartphone is that it’s a part of Google’s Android One initiative which runs on stock Android Nougat OS.
Despite being part of the Google’s Android One initiative, the smartphone retains some Xiaomi apps such as the Mi Camera, Mi Remote, and Mi Store apps, apart from a Mi Services section within Settings.
Xiaomi Mi A1 specifications
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi A1 flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU, and 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of storage on offer, which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
As above we mentioned, the smartphone the has dual-camera setup at the back. This setup includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support.
The other features on the smartphone include a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, 3,080mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G VoLTE support, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone sports a dual pyrolytic graphite sheet, which helps radiate heat, helping reduce thermal performance by up to 2-degrees Celsius. The smartphone also offers high-quality audio and comes with an IR blaster.
The Mi A1 runs on stock Android Nougat 7.1.2, and will be available in India and globally. Soon, the smartphone will get Android Oreo update.
Xiaomi Mi A1 price, availability
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced at Rs 14,999. It will be available in both online and offline from September 12. For online, the user needs to purchase via mi.com as well as the e-commerce site Flipkart. Others can purchase it from Xiaomi Mi Home stores in the country. Buyers will be able to choose from three color options – black, gold and rose gold.
