Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL launched with improved cameras and more

The wait is finally over. Yes, Google today unveiled its latest flagship device, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at the company’s #MadebyGoogle event held in New York. Both the devices have pretty much similar specifications that were revealed earlier through several reports and leaks online.

In the premium smartphone segment, the new Pixel devices come with the better display and improved camera accompanied with a host of interesting features such as Photobooth Mode, Motion Auto Focus, Top Shot, Google Lens, Super Res Zoom and more.

The successors to last year’s Pixel phones again focus a lot on the camera and picture quality. This year, Pixels are packed with a single 12.2 MP wide camera unit at the back with a f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, OIS and Dual Pixel autofocus. On the other side, there is a dual camera setup with one 8 MP wide camera sensor with f/2.3 aperture and another normal 8 MP sensor to aid with depth sensing. With the front camera, you can even shoot videos at 1080p and 30 fps.

In terms of specifications, the Pixel 3 XL has a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display while the Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD+ OLED edge-to-edge display, but both of them have the similar screen resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels and adaptive colour profile.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, both the smartphones are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU, paired with 4GB of RAM and two storage configurations – 64GB and 128GB. Both of the smartphones run on latest Android 9.0 Pie OS out of the box.

The Google Pixel 3 sports a 2915mAh battery while the Google Pixel 3 XL is powered by a 3,430mAh battery. Both of them support wireless charging and you can power them using Qi-standard chargers. The Pixel 3 phones also support fast charging (USB-PD 2.0) and Google claims the phone delivers 7 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging.

Pricing & Availability

Google Pixel 3 price in India starts from Rs 71,000 for 64GB storage variant and Rs 80,000 for 128GB. On the other hand, the larger Pixel 3 XL price starts from Rs 80,000 for 64GB and Rs 92,000 for 128GB variant.

Both the smartphone will be arriving in India on November 1, however, the pre-order starts on October 11 on Flipkart, Airtel’s online store, and at offline partners including Reliance Digital and Croma. The Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL will be available in three colour options – Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink.
